The Silver Line is a planned 26-mile line that will extend between the DFW Airport and Shiloh Road in Plano, Texas.Photo – DARTThe Dallas Area Rapid Transit's (DART) board last week approved a new name — the Silver Line — for its future commuter-rail service running on the Cotton Belt.
The planned 26-mile line will extend between the Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW) Airport in Dallas and Shiloh Road in Plano, Texas, and traverse five other cities including Grapevine, Coppell, Carrollton, Addison and Richardson.
Construction of the line will be completed in 2022, according to a DART press release.
At DFW Airport, the project will connect to the TEXRail regional-rail line to Fort Worth and provide access to the DFW Airport's Skylink.
The Silver Line will interface with three DART light-rail lines: the Red and Orange lines in Richardson and Plano, the Green Line in Carrollton and the Orange Line at DFW Airport.
