STM created a plan to address some of the main recommendations for the Blue Line extension based on public input.Photo – STMThe Societe de transport de Montreal (STM) yesterday published an action plan for implementing rider recommendations into the agency’s Blue Line extension project, which would extend Montreal’s metro 3.6 miles northeast from Saint-Michel Station.
Following an analysis of recommendations and discussions earlier this year, STM prepared an action plan to address some of the main suggestions. They include plans for:
designing metro stations based on sustainability, universal accessibility, safety and culture; integrating facilities into surrounding communities by partnering with local service providers and developers to create multimodal mobility hubs and transit-oriented development; ensuring implementation plans include efforts to reduce the impact of construction on local residents; and ensuring consultation and transparency with the public about the project. The recommendations are based on public input, STM officials said in a press release.
