The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) earlier this week approved a $1.4 billion budget for fiscal-year 2021, which begins July 1.

Major initiatives in the budget include advancing capital improvement projects, including allocation of $32 million to continue construction of the OC Streetcar in Santa Ana and Garden Grove, California.

The FY2021 budget is down more than $98 million in total expenditures compared to OCTA’s FY2020 budget due to sharp declines in both county and state sales tax funding in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, authority officials said in a press release.
