Rail News: Security
The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) yesterday received a threat of a suicide bombing on its system.
All VTA's vehicles were stopped and searched after the message was received, agency officials said in an email.
The individual who made the threat was later arrested; normal service resumed afterwards.
The bomb threat is the second against a California transit agency this month. Last week, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority received an anonymous tip about a plan to attack a Red Line rail station. The FBI later determined that threat wasn't credible.
