The national intercity passenger railroad noted that various states are undertaking safety precautions at stations for customers arriving from other states. Riders should check with each state for specific guidance, Amtrak officials said in a press release.
While Amtrak is providing essential services on the Northeast Corridor, it continues to operate several of its lines throughout the country on a reduced schedule due to reduced demand. In a few cases, service remains suspended altogether.
Due to service reductions, some stations may not be staffed, Amtrak officials said. If the station is closed, riders should proceed directly to the platform to board their train.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention offers guidance for people to follow when traveling.
