ASLRRA's Darr to head American Council of Engineering Cos.

Linda Bauer Darr has been named president and chief executive officer of the American Council of Engineering Cos. (ACEC). She will begin her new job in August.

Darr is currently president of the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA), which announced last week that she would resign in July to accept a post with a larger trade association.

"It has been a great pleasure to work alongside a committed board and a talented staff focused on the advancement of our industry," said Darr in a press release. "I am proud of what we have been able to accomplish together, and confident that with the strategic plan in place, the organization will continue to be strong and relevant amid unprecedented change."

At the 5,000-member ACEC, Darr will succeed David Raymond, who is retiring as the group's executive leader after 19 years.
