BART board names Saltzman president, Raburn vice president

The Bay Area Rapid Transit's(BART) board late last week elected Rebecca Saltzman president and Robert Raburn vice president.

Since 2012, Saltzman has represented District 3, which includes Alameda and Contra Costa counties in California. For the past six years, Raburn has represented District 4, which includes Alameda County.

"We have a tremendous amount of activity to look forward to in 2017," Saltzman said in a press release. "BART will put the first new train cars into service, issue the first portion of the recently approved bond, work on transit-oriented development and continue improving stations and access."

Saltzman succeeds Tom Radulovich as president.
