Caltrain has suspended plans to increase the cost for single-ride fare and monthly passes on its Clipper fare card in April due to economic challenges facing the San Francisco Bay Area as a result of the coronavirus, the commuter-rail officials announced March 19.
The cost of Caltrain’s single-ride adult fare and adult monthly pass were to increase by 30 cents and $9, respectively.
The fare change will support operating and maintenance needs over the next few years, as well as fund participation in Clipper START, a fare discount pilot program, Caltrain officials said in a press release.
