Caltrain's fare change will support operations and maintenance, and fund participation in a fare discount pilot program.Photo – Caltrain FacebookCaltrain will increase the cost for single-ride fare and monthly passes on its Clipper fare card in April, officials with the California commuter railroad announced yesterday.
The cost of Caltrain’s single-ride adult fare and adult monthly pass will increase by 30 cents and $9, respectively.
Fare changes on single-rider fare will begin April 1, and on monthly pass sales starting March 21.
The fare change will support operating and maintenance needs over the next few years, as well as fund participation in Clipper START, a fare discount pilot program, Caltrain officials said in a press release.
