DCTA releases passenger satisfaction survey

The Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) yesterday released its biennial passenger satisfaction survey, which found that over 90 percent of respondents identified affordability and employee service as excellent or good.

Eighty-six percent of respondents listed "safety" on DCTA as excellent or good. More than half (57 percent) of respondents indicated that they use DCTA services daily. Twenty-four percent said they use service once or twice a week, 8 percent indicated a few times a month and 11 percent use the service occasionally throughout the year, DCTA officials said in a press release.

The majority of respondents, 49 percent, noted they use DCTA services to get to school. Followed by work (10 percent), to save money (10 percent) and to avoid traffic (7 percent).

Twenty-four percent of survey respondents didn’t answer this question.

Respondents were also asked to rate DCTA’s on-demand services. Overall, the services logged favorable results.

Ninety-four percent of riders rated the Lewisville Lakeway Zone — a micro-transit service that serves the Lakeway Business Park in Lewisville, Texas — as excellent or good, while 86 percent rated the micro-transit zone at Denton Enterprise Airport as excellent or good.

Furthermore, the 73 percent of riders noted they would be “very likely” and “somewhat likely” to try new on-demand services if they were offered, and 83 percent of survey respondents indicated they would book a trip via mobile applications.

DCTA conducted its survey in April and received 2,629 responses.
