April ridership on Amtrak's Hoosier State train service grew 11.6 percent to 2,034 passengers compared to the same month last year.
Revenue last month also rose 11.6 percent to $62,099, said Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) spokesman Will Wingfield.
In addition, on-time performance since October was 85 percent, including more than 90 percent in March, according to an InDOT press release.
Amtrak in March took over the Hoosier State train from Iowa Pacific Holdings. Trains on the route run four days a week between Indianapolis and Chicago.
Meanwhile, INDOT announced that the southbound Hoosier State will depart earlier from its intermediate stops and arrive 11 minutes earlier in Indianapolis. The northbound Hoosier State also is scheduled to arrive five minutes earlier in Chicago.
