KCS appoints Barr to VP human resources

Kansas City Southern Railway Co. has named Janet Barr vice president human resources.

Barr has more than 20 years of human resources and labor relations experience in the railroad, health care and utility industries. She joined KCS in 2015 and has gained responsibilities since then, KCS officials said in a press release.

Prior to joining the railroad, Barr managed human resource functions for HCA Physician Services Group and Truman Medical Centers.

In her new role, Barr will report to KCS Senior Vice President Human Resources Lora Cheatum.

"Janet brings a diverse background of disciplines and industries to the human resources function," said Cheatum. "She is a great complement to the leadership team as we invest in the people and infrastructure to prepare for the company's many long-term growth opportunities."
