The League of Railway Women (LRW) has extended to Aug. 28 the nomination deadline for the Railway Woman of the Year Award.

Co-sponsored by Progressive Railroading, the award recognizes the contributions of North American female rail industry leaders who can best be described as confident trailblazers, influential luminaries and thoughtful visionaries, LRW officials say.

Nomination criteria and an online nomination form are available on the LRW website. LRW's Railway Woman of the Year Advisory Committee will review all applications and recommend a winner. The committee is made up of leaders who are previous LRW Woman of the Year honorees.

LRW will announce this year's recipient during a live virtual event to be held this fall.

Past award winners include Canadian Pacific's Pam Arpin, Ontario Northland's Corina Moore, Transportation Technology Center Inc.'s Lisa Stabler, MTA Metro-North Railroad's Anamaria Bonilla and GO Transit's Mary Proc.
