Metra today began work to replace and resurface a grade crossing at 95th Street and Vincennes Avenue on the Rock Island Line in Chicago.

The work will require closure of the crossing to vehicle traffic until June 12.

Crossing renewals provide a smoother ride for motorists and ensure the continued safety of railroad operations, Metra officials said in a press release.
