Metrolink to solicit input on proposed 2018 budgets

Metrolink will hold a public hearing on Friday to gather feedback on its proposed operating and capital budgets for fiscal-year 2018, which begins July 1.The Southern California commuter railroad has proposed a $243 million operating budget, which marks a 0.3 percent decrease from the FY2017 budget. Metrolink  proposes a $94.8 million budget for capital and rehabilitation projects. The budget proposals include investments in positive train control and a comprehensive state-of-good-repair maintenance program, Metrolink officials said in a press release.The proposed budgets include no increases in fares.
