Operation Lifesaver Inc. (OLI), Operation Lifesaver Canada and the Asociacion Mexicana de Ferrocarriles (AMF) together will observe rail safety in North America during the week of Sept. 21 to Sept. 27.
The Rail Safety Week public awareness initiative was created to encourage drivers and pedestrians to practice safe behavior near railroad tracks.
“We’re excited to coordinate with Operation Lifesaver Canada and now, the AMF, through events, social media, news media outreach and paid marketing efforts,” said OLI Executive Director Rachel Maleh.
The initiative includes partnerships with law enforcement agencies to disseminate safety information, and a #STOPTrackTragedies campaign, which features videos sharing the stories of people affected by grade crossing and trespassing incidents. Railroad News
