OmniTRAX signs A&R Logistics to anchor Georgia industrial park

image OmniTRAX Inc. has signed A&R Logistics Inc. as the lead tenant to anchor the 2,750-acre Savannah Gateway Industrial Hub (SGIH) in Georgia.The 12-year A&R lease secures 610,000 square feet of the park’s initial 1 million-square-foot, build-to-suit project and includes an option to lease the remaining space, OmniTRAX officials said in a press release.OmniTRAX is the master developer of the park, which is owned by the Effingham County Industrial Development Authority.The A&R Logistics site will feature its new $90 million global export headquarters. The facility will house a multiline production center to support logistics operations that serve plastics producers. The A&R operations will include receipt of inbound materials, packaging and outbound shipment to international destinations.“Our customers are some of the largest chemical companies in world with very complex supply chain requirements,” said A&R Logistics President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Holden in a press release. “SGIH’s dual served park provides the ideal site and service to support our customers’ needs.”  As part of the project, OmniTRAX will construct more than 7 miles of park-serving rail infrastructure, a multi-customer rail yard and a dedicated rail yard for A&R that will feature space for 200 rail cars.The rail infrastructure will connect industrial park tenants to CSX and Norfolk Southern Railway. The park is strategically located near the Port of Savannah, as well.Completion of the project construction and development is forecast for fourth-quarter 2020, OmniTRAX officials said.“With the ability to accommodate industrial operations and corporate campuses, Savannah Gateway Industrial Hub will provide world-class operational efficiency and supply chain access to North America and the world,” said OmniTRAX Chief Executive Officer Kevin Shuba.
