Pacific Harbor Line Inc. President Otis Cliatt II chaired World Trade Week 2018, which began earlier this month in Los Angeles.

The month-long program features events, seminars and workshops focused on the role of global trade in the greater Los Angeles economy. The week is sponsored by the the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce.

More than 800 people attended the kickoff breakfast, in which Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti presented a certificate to Cliatt for his leadership of the event.

"It was a pleasure to lead a very diversified group of global supply-chain industry professionals based in greater Los Angeles," said Cliatt. "Serving World Trade Week the past two years as both chairman and vice chairman has been a fantastic opportunity."

As part of World Trade Week's Education Initiative, Pacific Harbor Line provided two of 13 scholarships totaling nearly $10,000 to local college and high-school students.

Cliatt is a 20-year veteran of the railroad industry. He joined Pacific Harbor Line in 2010 as vice president and was appointed president in 2012. He began his railroad career with Union Pacific Railroad. Cliatt is a veteran of the U.S. Army's Special Forces Command.
