The Port Authority of Allegheny County yesterday began nightly closures of the Mount Washington Transit Tunnel in Pittsburgh for repairs.

Wellington Power Corp. will be replacing lighting and cable inside the tunnel as part of the project.

The project is expected to take two years to complete, and will require light rail and bus detours through Allentown between 8 p.m. and 4:30 a.m.
