Canadian provincial and federal governments last week awarded TransLink CA$644 million to cover revenue losses the agency is incurring as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The one-time funding will enable TransLink to maintain current service levels and continue enhanced safety measures, TransLink officials said in a statement.
TransLink will continue working with government officials to address the agency's longer-term financial challenges related to the pandemic.
Meanwhile, TransLink last week began accepting public feedback on new station designs and construction management plans for the Surrey Langley SkyTrain project. The project would extend the SkyTrain nearly 10 miles from King George Station in Surrey to Langley, British Columbia.
Feedback will accepted until Oct. 4.
