The Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) yesterday released a draft report that describes the design concept for the planned Southwest Corridor light-rail route between Portland and Tualatin. 

The report describes the preliminary design features of 13 stations and other related improvements along the 11-mile MAX light-rail extension, including bike facilities and stormwater improvements.

The concepts include at-grade and above grade track alignments, and center and side station platforms.

TriMet is seeking feedback on the conceptual designs online through March 27, and in person at five open houses the agency will host starting Feb. 12.

The feedback will inform a final report to be published in mid-2020.

Construction on the $2.8 billion light-rail project is expected to begin in 2022. The extension is slated to open in 2027.
